We went to my parents for a 5 day weekend over Labor Day and had a nice visit. I took a bunch of images I colored with me because Mom has a Brother Scan n Cut so I was able to get a lot of images cut out. My Copic coloring still needs work (still bleed outside the lines) so I set the machine to cut with no border, it left funny little bumps (looks like warts on my hippos and barnacles on my whales and sharks) where the ink bleed was dark so I need to clean them up with my detail scissors and I’ll be able to make a lot of cards. Kitty whiskers and flower stems are very delicate to peel off the mat when left with no border but I managed to get them up and didn’t ruin a single image.
Harvey left Grandma’s with two new beds so he can be comfy in my craft room or where my computer is. He is so very spoiled. Years ago Mom cut up a million pairs of jeans into squares, she has since used them to back dog blankets and several beds for our dogs. This time she has decided she wants to make things with snaps and bought a large snap application tool and big box of plastic snaps so these two beds will snap open and closed to wash the cover and replace the pillow/filler if necessary. It really is good to be a dog in my family. I think my dogs are more spoiled by Mom and Dad than my brother’s sons.
Since we got home Harvey has had several issues. No appetite Tuesday so he didn’t get his insulin in the morning. Then in the evening we noticed that he wasn’t able to bend his back legs and we panicked about that. I exercised them for him a bit and one popped very loudly but he regained enough movement to walk on it and we gave him a doggy anti inflammatory and went to bed. Wednesday we went to the vet and now we have PT exercises for him to do and a low fat diet food for days he doesn’t want to eat his regular food. He loved the new food and cottage cheese. SPOILED!!! Then on Thursday I ran some errands and came home 3 hours later to a dog that was choking and wheezing and just sounded like he would die any minute. So back to the vet we go where he is acting all better. I told him he was grounded for trying to manipulate me. Back home for his dinner and to do his first PT. PT went OK, some we need to do on the bed where he can be comfortable. One we need to figure out how to block him so he goes under something instead of around; he’s just too smart for his own good. Today he and I are hanging out in the craft room; it needed cleaning up. I’ll leave him alone for a little while a bit later and run an errand since I figured out what I need for small items on my desk.
I will be getting two more small Sterite 5 drawer units for my table top. I have one now where I keep my stamp blocks and other tools at hand but now I need to put other small things away that need to be kept close. I also think I need to replace my 3 drawer plastic unit with a small dresser or night stand on wheels (trip to Goodwill?). It needs the wheels because it needs to move in and out from in front of my shelves as I need things and the top has begun to sag so the top drawer doesn’t close easily and things I need to keep on top and at hand are all sliding to the middle.
Anyway, I hope your week has been a good one. Fall is in the air here. Cold in the morning and hot in the afternoon. I can’t wait until the neighbor’s maple tree turns colors. Autumn has always been my favorite time of year and I intend to enjoy it this year to the fullest. I haven’t had a pumpkin spice anything yet but am considering baking some pumpkin muffins.
