So I worked on two projects this weekend. One for the hubby. It’s very subtle. Well, the color is subtle. Inspiration came from a Facebook post in a craft group. It is a metal sign from Michaels with Cricut vinyl and foil that was cut on my Cricut. It was super fast and easy but I think I should have used the foil on the whole thing, the vinyl just doesn’t show up. I did have trouble with “Sometimes” but I just peeled it all off except the dot over the i and tried again with a new cutout. Leaving the dot helped me place it correctly.
The other project was basically and assignment from Sandy Allnock, I’m taking her #copicjumpstart class online and learing so much. I wasn’t much of a colorer (colorist?) when I was a kid so I never bothered to learn to stay in the lines. I was more about getting done so I could move on to something else, still am. But I’m having fun learning to blend and color now.
It’s kind of relaxing and it’s fun to watch new color develop from what you put on the paper. One of the early lessons what just to color lots of charts. One of the blending charts I did was so ugly in the rectangular version but when I did it in the ribbon/wheel I knew exactly what to color with that blend. A Tiger Cat!! Thankfully I had just received a new stamp from #MFTStamps, Cool Cat. It was purrfect for this color combo.
I took pictures with each item I colored and the pen and cap so I can recreate the item or the color combo. The piggies are different because as I was finishing the 3rd piggy I noticed #1 was drying and looked like he had 5 o’clock shadow. That wasn’t going to do so I found another combo that worked better. Three cards total, I started with 4 but on the 4th one I forgot to mask the bird and stamped the fence over him, oops. Making more than just the card I needed left extra cards in my stash to use when I need one at the last minute or to give to someone else to use.
