Bag Ladies – Mondo/Midi Bag
Another fun bag that is easier to make than it looks!
The Mondo Bag bottom is about 10″ square with 15″ tall sides and features an interior pocket and loop for clip-on keychains. The Midi Bag is about half that size.
It’s a patchwork-style bag, so you have many options to be creative making your own bag! Pull out your scraps and have fun with a scrappy look. Or, sort your scraps into a coordinated palette, like shades of blue, brights, or batiks.
Bring your sewing machine with basic notions and a variety of fabrics from your scrap pile that can be combined for an amazing bag. You can purchase the pre-printed interfacing made by Quiltsmart or use any fusible interfacing with pre-printed squares.
Mondo bag: You will need 208 2.5″ squares of fabric for the outer bag, 1 1/4 yds for the lining, and 1 1/4 yds of fusible fleece.
Midi bag: You will need 108 2.5″ squares of fabric for the outer bag, 3/4 yd for the lining, and 3/4 yd of fusible fleece.
